About Me

I am currently the Public Relations and Communications Manager for the Florida Virtual Campus. In this position, my primary responsibilities include creating several internal and external monthly newsletters, managing social media accounts for FLVC programs on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. I also create website copy and act as the primary contact for the media.

Before this position, I served as the Director of External Affairs for the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council and was responsible for establishing relationships with underserved communities, media, and state agencies working in Gulf restoration.

I have more than a decade of experience in leadership, state and local legislation, and communications experience. Ihave a passion for building relationships and creating clear, concise messages.

  • Create outreach plans that foster a positive public image for the UWF Innovation Institute, Florida Virtual Campus, and its family of brands
  • Create and deliver media content, case studies, and research to the public
  • Manage the organization’s social media efforts to build customer engagement through various social media platforms effectively
  • Edit copy, proofread, and revise communications materials from content experts

External Affairs Director

  • Identify critical political, social, economic, and technical factors that affect the RESTORE Council’s outward-facing communications approach
  • Develop and implement a communication and public engagement program that will have an impact on all of the agency's constituencies including the five gulf coast states, federal council members, the press, other stakeholders, and the public
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with members of the news media and specialized groups interested in the Council's programs
